Mercedes Schlapp doesn't have an simple job as the White House strategic communications adviser. It's not easy for Mercedes Schlapp as the advisor to strategic communications for the White House. Schlapp, however, has maintained her focus on her job. She works closely together with White House political affairs and the legislative team as well as policy shops and the overall communications department to oversee the rollout of policies. So far, her focus has been on matters such as school safety, opioids and infrastructure and trade. At the moment the director does not interact extensively with journalists. She did draw a flurry of interest in March, when she was mentioned as a potential replacement Hope Hicks as communications director. Mercedes Schlapp has a tough job in her role as White House's strategist for communications. It is a job that can be challenging due to the fact she has to work with the president who acts as the director of his communications. Additionally, there are numerous legal proceedings that could disrupt the strategy of an administration's communication as well as Cabinet secretaries who are embroiled in their personal controversies. But through it all Schlapp remains determined to focus on her task in hand and has worked closely with the White House's political and legislative affairs departments and policy shops as in the communications department in order to oversee policy implementations. Her focus has been on issues like security at schools, opioids, infrastructure, along with trade. As of now, Schlapp does not deal too much with journalists. But, back in March, her name was rumored as a person who could succeed Hope Hicks at the Communications Director job. The battle has been brutal. Schlapp's close ally, Tony Sayegh as well as another candidate for the position with the same name, Tony, started jousting with each other on the news. Following Schlapp was informed that the Washington Examiner published a negative story about Sayegh, Schlapp claimed she phoned the candidate to be open heart.
